Dalton's Dinos is the fictional dinosaur-themed roadside attraction where Terrible Lizards begins. It stands off Route 66 in New Mexico, and its colorful museum, animatronics, educational displays, and Paleo Pal mascots conceal access to a much larger underground excavation. It is a setting inside WDR Studios' game, not the name of a separate dinosaur game.
Jordan reaches the attraction in 1992 after his car breaks down nearby. Looking for help brings him inside, where the absence of staff and contact with Stella begin the mystery. This guide provides a spoiler-light orientation to the attraction and its role in the game, rather than a complete puzzle walkthrough or an ending explanation.
Why Jordan enters the attraction
The roadside breakdown leaves Jordan without immediate help. After using the payphone, he turns to the nearby attraction while waiting. The bright exterior and familiar museum presentation initially suggest a public place where an employee should be available.
Inside, that expectation breaks down. Jordan encounters exhibits and signs intended for visitors, but no ordinary staffed visit. Stella works at Dalton's Dinos and contacts him from off-site. Her request to find Dalton and his son changes the purpose of the visit from waiting for assistance to following a missing-person trail.
The setting is deliberately rooted in early 1990s roadside tourism. The dinosaur theme is expressed through displays, films, mascot figures, and merchandise. The game uses those recognizable public spaces as the starting point before revealing areas visitors were never meant to enter.

The exterior identifies the attraction Jordan enters.
The public museum areas
The first chapter moves through several distinct parts of the attraction. Knowing which area you are in helps separate similar-looking mechanical tasks.
| Area | Its role in the visit |
|---|---|
| Reception and box office | The initial indoor entry and staff-access puzzle |
| Theater | The introductory presentation and projector-power task |
| Exhibition halls | Dinosaur displays, elevated paths, and the security-room gate controls |
| Dilo Dash | A themed experience associated with the flashlight-token route |
| Meteor finale | An exhibit whose machinery provides a route backstage |
| Gift shop and arcade | The later visitor area leading to Dalton's office and the floodlight sequence |
The attraction's displays also become traversal structures. Dinosaur bodies, platforms, branches, hanging supports, and maintenance routes carry Jordan above spaces that appear closed at floor level. A museum object is not necessarily only scenery in this game.
The individual devices have different requirements. Theater access, flashlight redemption, projector power, exhibit-gate switches, and gift-shop floodlights are separate objectives. Being in the same attraction does not make their tokens, fuses, or controls interchangeable.

The public displays establish the attraction before the route moves underground.
The Paleo Pals and the creature imagery
The Paleo Pals are the attraction's mascot characters. Their figures and talk boxes fit the educational visitor experience, offering another layer of corporate personality around the fossils and animatronics.
Keep the categories distinct as you explore. A fossil display shows an animal's bones. A mascot statue represents a branded character. A costume is something different again, and a hostile creature does not become harmless because it resembles the attraction's familiar imagery.
The game builds unease by disturbing those expected relationships. A supposedly cheerful museum object can appear unsettling when there are no employees nearby to explain it. You do not need a complete theory about every character's identity to follow the route or understand why Jordan is alarmed.
The gift shop is a major transition
Dalton's management office is near the gift shop. Reaching it and watching the recording provides context for his absence and the missing child. The surrounding shop is also a large movement space, with an arcade, basement access, pillar equipment, and elevated routes.
That makes it more than an end-of-visit souvenir room. The required progression combines basement fuse collection, installations around the floor, upper electrical work, and a later escape. If you are stuck there, identify the current stage rather than searching every doorway for another office.
The gift-shop sequence ultimately pushes Jordan into the caverns. Leaving the public attraction therefore does not finish the game. It opens access to the broader setting beneath it.
What lies below the visitor route
The underground spaces include excavation sites, mining operations, machinery, and facilities. The deeper route gradually shifts attention from what the attraction tells visitors to what the operation has actually been doing.
Notes, audio recordings, and environmental details provide the additional history. They develop the people behind the operation and the consequences of its expansion. You can follow the main story without reading every record, while a collection-focused visit uncovers more of that context.
This distinction also limits what to expect from an attraction map. The museum is only part of the campaign, and a diagram of the public rooms would not be a complete map of the excavation below. Later generators, trains, and camp areas belong to different stages of the route.

Scaffolding and portable lights mark the underground worksite.
Prepare for movement rather than combat
Terrible Lizards is a single-player first-person parkour game. Jordan runs, jumps, climbs, slides, wall runs, and uses the terrain to survive. The public museum introduces the movement before pursuits and hunt arenas place it under pressure.
There is no conventional weapon loadout to assemble before entering the attraction. The practical preparation is learning how the environment communicates a route and distinguishing an objective interaction from an optional collectible.
The full game is available on Windows PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The confirmed Steam version baseline is 1.0.9, while the demo is separate. If an older description still treats the full release as upcoming, the verified release date is October 29, 2026. Choose the full-game route when following the attraction's complete progression.
